Background: Chiana in a nutshell

Personality: The Nebari runaway is happiest when she has the opportunity to show off her scoundrel skills; she's a thief, a liar, a seductress and a drama queen. But beyond that, she's a very young woman, and often conceals her fears under blustery pseudo-confidence that's plausible maybe fifty percent of the time.

Her talents for subterfuge have proved useful on more than one occasion for Moya's crew, but her tendency to be contrary makes her an unlikely team player in crisis situations. Chiana doesn't do what Chiana doesn't want to do, and as a general rule, that's anything that would risk her hide, ruin her reputation, or tear her clothing. Unless, of course, that's what she was going for.

Her admiration for Crichton has softened her combative edge, over time; now, with mock reluctance she'll let him convince her to help him and the crew, whom she's grown to like and even respect. Chiana will bicker with Crichton, annoy Aeryn, go shopping with Rygel and respect Zhaan, but it's her relationship with D'Argo that really makes Moya a home for her. Chiana has become a full-fledged member of the crew, at times risking her life for her ship-mates.

The fun loving soul acquired a sometimes painfully desperate sense of humor through the years; a focus on the 'thrills' and a likewise sometimes painfully desperate self confidence in order to push ahead for new adventure and thrills with so little means, experience, support or guidance. While obviously made even edgier by this and a drive to improve her skills, appeal, etc. as she saw them, Chiana retained a rather sensitive, good heart, despite the corruptive nature of her life, and the quite serious risks to sanity and survival it sometimes held.

In the past she fought and killed when necessary, her personal defenses drawing a division between necessary (which she has done with a seeming hardened thoughtlessness of surviving long in a violent cruel world), what could be helped, and what she is emotionally involved in. Yet although her heart can and has often made this agonizingly difficult and complex at times, she always chose to fully taste life and tries living by her heart and spirit in spite of all.

She has an inability to stay still for prolonged periods of time, seeming wary of her surroundings no matter how 'safe' an area is deemed. She moves in almost a serpentine manner, knees relaxed and head tilted as if constantly curious of whatever she is looking/interacting with. She will squat in a chair rather than sit, always ready to get up and moving should she need to. She is quick to laugh, and although this is sometimes used to cover up fear or tension, she can be known to find humor in rather distasteful topics.

Do you have personal space? Not if you hang around with Chiana. She has no qualms about getting right up in someone's face and doesn't seem to mind making them uncomfortable in doing so.

Powers:
- Latent superhuman abilities - Chiana once unselfconsciously leaped a distance impossible for a human; it is known their eyesight is vastly superior to human in distance and clarity.
- Basic defensive skills (in a scrapping manner. Chiana does NOT fight fair).
- Talented thief and sneak; she was able to move about Moya undetected while on the run.
- Scamming; the girl could sell a clunker to your dying grandmother.. and not feel guilty about it.
- Seduction; having used prostitution to survive, Chiana is no stranger to the effects her body has on people and will use it.
- Immunity to radiation of all kinds.

Spoken/Written languages: Common (English), Native Nebari

*Note* Chiana, like all other members of Moya's crew, was injected on arrival with translator microbes. The microbes colonize the host's brain stem and translate anything spoken to him/her/it, passing along the translated information to the host's brain. This does not enable the injected person to speak other languages; they continue to speak their own language and are only understood by others as long as the listeners possess the microbes. The microbes sometimes fail to properly translate slang, translating it literally. Also, the translator microbes are unable to translate the natural language of the alien Pilots because every word in their language can contain thousands of meanings, far too many for the microbes to translate, thus Pilots must learn to speak in "simple sentences." The implanted can learn to speak new languages if they want to make communicating with non-injected individuals possible. The crew of Moya learned English from their human friend John Crichton, thereby being able to communicate with the non-implanted populace when the crew visited Earth.

Humanization: Physically, the Nebari are humanoid, with blue gel-like blood, light lead-gray skin with a roan of other colors (such as a sky blue or pale pea green) relevant to the light, and obsidian black eyes apparently without iris but having instead a very large non-retracting pupil of sorts. Males have jet-black hair, which tends to grow upwards, while females have jet-black hair that bleaches to a silvery white shortly past the root, which tends to grow downwards. Nebari are immune to radiation, and their skin doesn't sunburn.

Chiana herself stands 5'7" and weighs 130lbs.
